Responsibilities Include:

• Lead architecture and overall application design.
• Implementing (i.e. coding) and testing system classes or components (C, C++, C#, JAVA) technologies.
• Provides technical leadership to the development team in order to ensure resolution of design, development and implementation issues, including conducting and participating in peer reviews and documenting best practices to ensure consistent architecture across the division.
• Identifying tools and processes that would reduce design and development effort.
• Recognizing architectural trade-offs involved with competing technical approaches or techniques.
• Identifies and evaluates business partners who can provide improved technical solutions and benefits to our enterprise
• Create, drive and evaluate test criteria thorough evaluations and pilot tests
• Evaluate skills and training gaps of resources based on business requirements.
• Review metrics and trends for content follow up and closure
• Ensure entire architecture landscape will work together effectively with continued focus on functionality and cost solution
• Perform periodic system performance reviews and trend analysis
• Maintain and develop documentation for responsible area. 

Required Skills:

• Tools/Techniques: MS Office (latest release), Windows OS, Terminal Server, Install Tools. Visual Studio 2003/2005, Eclipse, NetBeans
• Artifacts: Data Dictionary, UML Diagrams, Database Schema, System Requirements Specification, High level use cases   
• 3+ years technical experience in a Windows Desktop environment. 
• Knowledge of and experience with XML, .NET, C#, C++, COM/COM+ would be additional.
• Successful completion of several large scale software architecture projects, involving desktop and Web based applications is preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
• OOAD, UML, MCSD certification and SQL 2000 a plus.

This position is responsible for overall systems stability, as well as providing internal consulting and leadership on highly technical issues and projects. This position requires excellent analytical skills to identify problems and proven abilities to resolve issues. IT System Admin, Team Lead must be able to work independently, make decisions quickly, and have the ability to be given a project and finish it on a timely basis with minimal direction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain existing IT systems, operations, and network infrastructures.
• Maintain system security and enforce firewalls, antivirus programs, Windows updates/patches, data backup/recovery.
• Monitor daily administration and troubleshooting for computer equipment, servers, LAN/WAN, including all related routers, hubs, switches and peripherals.
• Responsible for research and development of assigned projects as it relates to changing technology.
• Identify areas of opportunity for improvement and present options.
• Complex problem resolution relating to connectivity and application inter-operability
• Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning and documentation.
• Possess an understanding of telecommunications (phone systems & T1), Network WAN/LAN/VPN technologies and protocols.
• Maintain network integration, including but not limited to FTP sites, NAS, Web, etc.
• Manage license renewals and major desktop software upgrades.
• Contribute to IT policies, procedures, practices and documentation.
• Support Senior Management as requested, and contribute to specific projects, planning and implementation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related disciplines.
• MCSE, Cisco or Citrix certifications desired.
• Minimum 5 years of professional work experience in systems management, networking and   telecommunications.
• In depth understanding of Networking, Security, Operating Systems, Storage Solutions and Web servers.
• Minimum 3 years of Senior Administrative experience.
• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
• Knowledge of VB, VBScript, JavaScript, ASP, HTML, SQL, Perl.
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• This position requires occasional travel to satellite offices
• Must be able to work occasional evenings and weekend when upgrades or projects require.
• Must have strong customer service and communication skills and work well with various constituencies.
